The use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can negatively affect quality of life.
In a study, patients who took two or more of the drugs for pain scored lower on the physical component of a quality-of-life questionnaire, according to a story from Reuters. These patients were compared with others who took only one NSAID.
In addition, the Reuters story says multiple NSAID use has in the past been linked to stomach problems. Other reports link NSAIDs to heart problems.
Common NSAIDs include aspirin, naproxen and ibuprofen.
An alternative to NSAIDs are safe, natural enzyme-based supplements. Systemic enzyme supplements support the natural inflammatory process while they aid immune function.
